ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Provide a safe and nurturing environment for students.
Plan, organize, and facilitate the infant / toddler program.
Engage in playful activities that encourage development in the classroom.
Teach children about their bodies, emotions, and relationships by modeling and interacting with them.
Supervise children during outdoor playtime.
Answer parents' questions about their children's progress.
Ensure all documentation is forwarded to EHS / HS Education Director and / or human resources.
Monitor, evaluate and provide training of classroom volunteers.
Attend case management meetings, consultations, and staff meetings as necessary.
Observe children and provide suggestions for behavior management and education programming to meet the individual needs of all children.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE : RATES OF PAY ARE DETERMINED BY EXPERIENCE AND CREDENTIALS.
Minimum : Associate's degree in early childhood development, Early Childhood Infant / Toddler certification. Meet Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) requirements.
At least 2 years' experience in one of the following areas : early childhood education, child health, mental health, or fields of disabilities services
At least one-year experience as a preschool or infant / toddler teacher. Also accepting applications for newly certified teachers.
Prefer experience with Head Start.
Experience with Developmentally Appropriate Practice, cultural diversity, and inclusion.
Experience working in Bilingual settings (Spanish / English) preferred.
