What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fitness Staff Attendant position at YMCA- METROPOLITAN HUNTSVILLE?
The Hogan Family YMCA is seeking energetic Fitness Staff to assist Y Members in the Branch Wellness Centers. Fitness Staff will greet Y Members, assist them in the operation of equipment and be responsible for the cleanliness and neatness of the Center, among other duties.
We are seeking energetic individuals to join our Branches. Fitness Staff will greet and interact with members and guests as they enter and exit the facility. In addition explain, promote and register members for various programs. Also will assist members in operation of the fitness equipment as well as be responsible for the overall cleanliness and neatness of the facility.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
- Communicate and promote the YMCA mission, goals and objectives to employees, volunteers and the community at large.
- Ensure a safe and positive atmosphere at all times in areas of responsibility.
- Identify and resolve problem areas to ensure member satisfaction.
- Assist all fitness staff to ensure proper implementation of fitness programs.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Assist and monitor all members in the facility.
- Orient members on all fitness equipment including cardiovascular and resistance training machines.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with members by providing personal attention every shift to all participants through a proactive approach
- Provide assistance/guidance and make an effort to acknowledge all members in the fitness center.
- Assist in developing procedures and disseminate appropriate program information in order to promote fitness programs to the public and to current members.
- Ensure that program areas, equipment and supplies are maintained in a clean, orderly and safe manner and are of the highest quality planning for replacement of worn out and over used items.
- Attend staff meetings and trainings. Maintain current certifications as required for the position.
- Responsible for any other duties as assigned by the Downtown YMCA Executive Director.
