Assistant Pre-K Teacher
Newtown | Part Time, Hourly | Monday - Friday 8:30am - 2:30pm | $15.50 - $17.00 per hour

We are looking for an assistant teacher passionate about bringing the best out in kids, connecting to our community and having fun!
What is needed for this job
- High School diploma
- Bachelor's Degree or credits in Early Childhood Education preferred
- 2 years of experience working with children - this can be professional, volunteer, or familial (babysitting, etc.)
- Passionate about working with children in a fun, diverse environment
- 18 years of age
- Pre-K Assistant experience preferred and must be able to work all hours
The responsibilities we will trust you with:
- Designing age appropriate lesson plans and activities
- Cultivating and fostering a safe and nurturing environment that will encourage physical, emotional, and intellectual growth of children in the program
- Adjusting curriculum to ensure that all children meet the learning objectives
- Utilizing state and YMCA guidelines to ensure the safety and well being of the children
- Building strong relationships with the parents
- Assisting the lead pre-k teacher in daily lessons including set up, clean up, taking children outside, assisting children in the bathroom, assisting with snack and meal times
