What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ray Childers Before and Afterschool YMCA Group Leader position at YMCA of Catawba Valley?
Join our team as a Y Camp Counselor! Part Time, up to 25 hours a week during the regular school year and up to 40 hours a week in summer... No Nights or Weekends! Come relive your childhood, as a camp counselor. At the Y you can have fun and earn a paycheck at the same time!
Pay: $11-$13 an hour

What You Will Do:
Participate! Actively engage while supervising campers. Encourage and invite participation, set an example for positive and inclusive play. Splash in the pool, draw, paint, play board games, make slime, race to the finish line, and more!
Be a Leader. Manage your campers and their behavior, lead games, projects, and activities, promote skill development, creativity, and exploration.
Communicate with Campers. Develop relationships with campers, be empathic, build trust, and display patience. Mediate and resolve camper conflicts.
Respect. Learn, serve, and work together to build a community where everyone thrives!
Attend to injuries. Provide first aid. Complete and submit Incident reports. When required, perform C.P.R. and utilize A.E.D.
Learn and Grow. Attend and participate in staff orientation, trainings, and meetings. Develop relationships with co-counselors, give and receive feedback, and provide input.

What do you need to be considered?
You must be 16 or older and be a junior or senior in high school. Also, you must be able to be at work from 2:30-6:00 everyday Monday through Friday. We will give you everything else you need!
You must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
