Description

The Area Supervisor at the YMCA of Central Massachusetts, under the direction of the Certified Aquatic Professional, will assist with the responsibility for all components of the city beaches or pool while maintaining a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals. The Area Supervisor will assist with the operation of the facility, coach staff, and manage administrative duties and record-keeping.
Job Duties :
- Ensures that the highest aquatic standards are constantly maintained.
- Assumes a lead role during shift and directly carries out leadership responsibilities to effectively oversee, train, guide, and evaluate staff (attendance, rotations, safety rule enforcement, etc.)
- Serves as a role model and resource for staff and maintain professional communication and behavior at all times
- Proficient in all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures
- Communicates with the Director about any concerns regarding safety, staff, or the public.
- Engages in positive public relations with patrons and models for other staff
- Conducts regular safety inspections of aquatic facility and environment
- Ensures appropriate staff coverage for all operating hours; monitor all instructor / lifeguard scheduling & substitutions; cover open shifts if necessary
- Assists with in-service training of staff on a regular basis to ensure the highest standards of safety and Risk Management
- Ensures clear, concise and consistent information is communicated to staff and the public.
- Responsible for the management of the facility (record-keeping, log books, incident reports, testing, city / state compliance)
- Assumes responsibility for the physical upkeep of the aquatic facility and environment
- Documents and notifies Director of incidents / accidents, member questions / concerns, damaged equipment, supply needs, etc.
- Maintains certifications listed under Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations.
- Receives and carries out instructions
- Maintain a professional appearance at all times; wear clothing that meets the YMCA dress code.
- Other duties as assigned

Schedule : Monday-Friday (Saturday / Sunday rotation as needed)
Job Type : Summer Seasonal, Full-Time
Pay : $38.00 per hour. Plus, access to YMCA facilities for all YMCA employees, Employee Assistance Program, Sick Leave
