Summer Camp runs June 17th- August 23rd. Monday - Friday, 7:30am-5:30pm. Weekly Thursday night staff meetings throughout the summer after camp ends. Mandatory Camp Training dates (subject to change): June 1st, 2nd, 8th, and 9th.
Under the supervision of the Camp Director and Assistant Camp Director, the camp counselor is responsible for helping to plan and implement camp program, identify and meet camper needs, lead and guide group of campers, while maintaining YMCA day camp standards and DPH standards.
Minimum Qualifications
Pay: $16.00/hour for newly hired Camp Counselors and $16.50/hour for returning Camp Counselors that worked last year. Plus, access to YMCA facilities to all YMCA employees, Employee Assistance Program, and Sick Leave.

- Current CPR, AED and First Aid Certifications
- Desire and Ability to work with children indoors, outdoors, and in the pools
- Ability to assist in teaching an activity
- Ability to relate to one’s peer group
- Good character, integrity, and adaptability
- Have reliable transportation to get to camp on time on a regular basis
- Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience and self-control
- At least 16 years of age
