While working with the Director of Child Care Service, the OST Director oversees the operations of all out-of-school time programming, ensuring the program meets its intended goals, specifically licensed after-school and Camp Greendale on Indian Lake programs.
Essential Functions
- Assists in recruiting diverse staff and volunteers and assists with onboarding. Additionally, manages staff schedules and evaluates staff performance.
- Develops & maintains collaborative relationships with staff, parents/caregivers, and community organizations and communicates in a clear & concise manner.
- Develops relationships with schools and community stakeholders about the goals of the program and any ongoing concerns of student needs.
- Responsible for evaluating children's progress and completing EEC progress reports bi-annually.
- Ensures programs and services meet community needs, which includes supervising existing program activities, creating new program activities, and expanding the program as needed. Also, assist in the marketing and distribution of program information.
- Promotes teamwork with a positive approach to supervision, communications, and interactions with others while maintaining ongoing community with the supervisor and appropriate staff.
- Plans and implements appealing and meaningful programs and events for parents and/or families on a regular basis; provides an ongoing network (formal & informal) of support for program participants.
- Responsible for adherence to all state licensing regulations and maintenance of all staff and child records related to EEC re-licensing.
- Ensures ease of registration for all program participants and facilitates regular audits to ensure accurate records are kept.
- Marketing of programs for recruitment & story-telling.
- Supervision of the OST coordinator and camp specialists.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Bachelor’s degree related to youth development or education preferred.
- A minimum of two years of relevant experience working with children under 13 years old in an education setting and at least 1 year of administrative supervisory experience
- Must possess sufficient oral & written communication skills and engage in active listening when interacting with both children and adults
- Positive role model with strong leadership, conflict resolution, and diplomacy skills.
- Must be capable of directing daily administrative, program-related, and supervisory responsibilities of the Afterschool Program
