Overview
The Kitchen Assistant, works with the Camp Cook to prepare, and serve meals that exceed all governmental and ACA guidelines requirements are enjoyed by campers, staff, and rental groups. Also assists the Camp Director in maintaining quality and safety controls within the lodge and kitchen areas as set forth by the ACA, FDA, CIS, and the local health
department.
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance and direction for food service at Camp Shaver.
- Facilitate meal preparation for breakfast, lunch and dinner including set-up, serving, clean-up, etc.
- Acts on duties given by Camp Cook.
- Facilitate group “Hoppers” as needed.
- Ensure cleanliness of the camp food service facilities.
- Have all meals prepared and served according to the current daily schedule.
- Continually conduct inspection each day of kitchen and other lodge facilities.
- Be responsible for conserving energy and supplies throughout the kitchen facility.
- Help monitor inventory of food and food service items.
- Model an attitude of service and readiness to do what is necessary to assure an effective, efficient, safe camp experience for campers and staff.
- Work with the Camp Cook to assure that campers with special dietary needs are served appropriate meals.
