The YMCA of Central Texas is seeking an Extension Director – Brazos Valley (Bryan/College Station).
The YMCA of Central Texas is one of the fastest growing YMCAs in the country and is poised to add additional branches in the next 2-5 years. We are currently serving local communities with 7 branch locations and are seeking an opportunity to serve in an expanded 7,200 square miles territory in the Central Texas area.
The Brazos Valley Extension Director, will work closely with the other area regional Operations Directors and will ensure continued Association growth in their area of responsibility. Initially, this position will directly provide hands-on leadership to an established Founder Group in the Bryan/College Station area. The main area of focus is fundraising to complete the Founders campaign through cultivated contacts and special events. Developing a future summer camp in 2025 and starting an annual Strong Kids campaign in the area to support scholarships for kids that may not be able to afford YMCA services and programs.
The Brazos Valley Extension Director, will represent and promote the YMCA as a leader in our community and must be able to maintain positive, collaborative relationships with local organizations, businesses and government entities. This position will be required to ensure quality programming, while assisting the Vice President of Operations – North and local volunteers to develop and successfully open new service area branches.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, or business or equivalent education and experience. Additional years of related experience may replace the college degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.
- Five or more years of management and operations experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency.
- Proven ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of branch budget, marketing and public relations, and program development.
- Experience in fund-raising, including: annual and capital campaigns, grant writing, planned giving, and the development of other creative revenue streams.
- Hands-on experience and willingness to work hands-on when and where needed.
- Experience in developing new programs and in reviewing and enhancing existing programs.
- Experience in management and development of volunteer involvement; proven ability to recruit top community leaders.
- Proven ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
- Proven track record of developing authentic relationships with others.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
- YMCA Multi-Team or Branch Leader certification preferred.
- CPR and first aid certifications may be required.

Salary: $60,000-$70,000 Annually - DOE
