The Twin Lakes Family YMCA in Cedar Park, TX is now accepting applications for energetic, dependable and engaging individuals to work as a Cooking/Baking Specialty Instructor in our ChildWatch Department. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who love working with kids and are passionate about sharing their love for cooking and baking in a fun, fast-paced, and family-oriented environment.

As a Cooking/Baking Specialty Instructor, you will lead interactive, age-appropriate cooking and baking classes for children ages 4 through adult. You’ll foster creativity and confidence in the kitchen while creating a welcoming, educational, and hands-on experience for participants. Candidates must be comfortable working with both children and families, and possess strong communication and organizational skills.

As a Cooking/Baking Specialty Instructor, you will lead interactive, age-appropriate cooking and baking classes for children ages 4 through adult. Candidates must be comfortable working with both children and families, and possess strong communication and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead at least one cooking or baking class per week
- Plan and facilitate engaging culinary lessons for a variety of age groups
- Greet and assist members and participants with professionalism and enthusiasm
- Provide outstanding customer service and maintain classroom control
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary food prep environment
- Collaborate with team members and leadership to ensure high program quality
- Support ChildWatch programming as needed
- Must be available to teach one class per week
- Availability needed between 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday (day may vary based on availability)
- Hours may vary depending on class enrollment
- Punctuality, reliability, and a positive attitude are essential
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- At least one year of experience teaching or leading cooking/baking activities preferred
- Must be at least 17 years old (18 preferred)
- Experience working with children (ages 4 )
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a dynamic setting
- Basic knowledge of food safety and handling preferred
- Must pass background check, reference checks, sex offender screening, and pre-employment drug screening
- Ability to also teach or assist with sewing, crafts, or painting to support specialty programs
