Responsible for the creation, development, planning, and maintenance of excellent programs and services to YMCA early learning program participants and parents. Must have an understanding of the role the YMCA early learning programs play in accomplishing the mission as well as the goals and objectives of the YMCA. All goals and objectives are in accordance with the strategic plan of the association.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must meet the requirements of Chapter 5101:2-12 of the Ohio Administrative Code including: two years of college including an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or two or more years of related experience in a childcare setting.
- Experience in staff supervision.
- Proficient with computers including computer applications such as spreadsheets, databases, and word processing.
- Requirements upon hire include completion of: CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, Child Abuse Prevention, Management of Communicable Diseases trainings, and a state-specific Rules and Regulations Overview course; willingness to complete YMCA program certifications deemed relevant and beneficial to the job by the CEO.
- Must have good interpersonal, public relations and communications skills including the ability to make oral presentations.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks; must be a creative, motivated, self-starter.
- Display sound judgment, independent thinking and must be able to work independently as well as with staff in a team-based environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Plans and coordinates the implementation of all aspects of early learning programs of both the Versailles and Greenville branches. Ensures high quality programs and establishes new program activities. Expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
- Develops, manages and controls budgets related to the position. Ensures program operates within budget and that program fees are collected.
- Supports YMCA-USA HEPA standards for healthy eating and physical activity through coaching and mentoring staff and monitoring menu quality.
- Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
- Develops and maintains relationships with state child care licensing agency, school administration, parent groups and other organizations and agencies related to assigned programs. Responds to all agency, parent and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner
- Assures compliance with state and local regulations as they relate to staff and program areas. Maintains accurate records for state licensing requirements and coordinates agency inspections.
- Organizes special events for parents. Assists in YMCA fund raising activities.
- Maintains accurate and adequate inventory of all supplies to meet the needs of the program and program staff.
- Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in program.
- Assists marketing in the creation of advertising and marketing plans for childcare services. Responsible for creation and distribution of childcare parent newsletters.
- Provides excellent member service.
- Manages Job and Family Services benefit attendance tracking and assists parents with the attendance swipe cards and accurate tracking.
- Maintains and reinforces at all times a high standard of professional conduct that models the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
- Must be able to implement and maintain programs in accordance with YMCA of the USA and various regulatory agency standards and local governing guidelines.
- Performs any and all other duties that are required or that may be assigned to achieve the mission and goals of the YMCA and YMCA Early Learning Programs.
