Full time Toddler Co-Teacher

The YMCA Early Learning Team is searching for a nurturing toddler teacher to ensure that the basic and educational needs of our children are met. As a toddler teacher, you will be required to prepare and deliver classroom lessons, communicate with staff and parents, and ensure that the learning environment remains safe at all times. You should also be an excellent role model for our students.

To be successful as a toddler teacher, you should be creative, energetic, and able to encourage self-expression. Top candidates will possess a thorough understanding of childhood development.

Toddler Teacher Responsibilities:

• Planning and delivering lessons designed to facilitate social, emotional, and cognitive development.
• Mediating conflict between children and exhibit positive classroom management skills.
• Ensuring that the classroom remains safe and conducive to learning at all times.
• Tracking and informing parents of students' progress.
• Maintain positive communication between staff and parents.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma; preferred education degree or similar field.
• Classroom management and childcare experience
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with students and parents
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and practices
• Experience in curriculum development and implementing effective teaching strategies

As a full time toddler teacher, you will receive a free Y membership, Paid time off (after 90 days) and have 2 hours (each week; paid and scheduled) of computer time to prepare lessons and work on other classroom duties. Weekends off.

• Familiarity with behavior management techniques and special education practices

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
