The YMCA is seeking a before and after school teacher.
This role is responsible for supervising and engaging students in a variety of activities before and after regular school hours, including leading enrichment programs, assisting with homework, facilitating games and creative projects, maintaining a safe enviornment, and communicating with parents, all while ensuring students' academic and social development within the after-school program framework.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Developing and implementing lesson plans:
- Creating engaging activities and curriculum based on students needs, interests, and program goals, which may include academic support, arts and crafts, sports, STEM activities, or other enrichment areas.
- Managing student behavior:
- Establishing clear expectations and rules, addressing behavioral issues promptly, and promoting positive social interactions among students.
- Providing homework assistance:
- Helping students with their schoolwork, clarifying concepts, and ensuring they are completing assignments accurately.
- Leading group activities:
- Organizing and facilitating fun and educational activities like games, projects, and special events.
- Communicating with parents:
- Regularly updating parents on their child's progress, addressing concerns, and maintaining open lines of communication.
- Maintaining a safe enviornment:
- Enforcing safety protocols, monitoring student behavior, and ensuring the classroom is clean and organized.

- First Aid and CPR certification
- Minimum of 18 years of age, with a high school diploma or equivalent.
