What are the responsibilities and job description for the YMCA Summer Camp Teacher position at YMCA of Dekalb Co.?
The YMCA of DeKalb Co. School Age program is seeking individuals with a fun & energetic personality and willing to be involved games, activities and field trips with the children in our Summer Care Program where we serve children ages 5-12 years.
Job duties:
- Provide care and supervision of school age children
- Be actively involved in games, activities, and interactions that promote a fun environment.
- Exhibit leadership skills with your group of children for events, activities and field trips.
- Assist in serving meals and a snack.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment that include some light cleaning duties.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in a camp or educational setting
- Strong classroom management skills
- Certification in First Aid and CPR (Can be trained upon hire)
- Ability to lead activities
*Paid training upon hire
Free Y membership and weekends off!
Full time and Part time options available.
Must be able to work during summer dates: May 27-Aug 1 ; May continue to stay on staff during school year with before/after school hours.
Must attend training day on May 20th & 21st 5:30PM-8PM
Must be 18 years old or older
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $11.00 - $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 29.75 – 40 per week
