What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Program Coordinator - Brown Family YMCA position at YMCA OF FLORIDA'S FIRST COAST?
The Family Program Coordinator for Youth and Teen Programs will manage and implement age-appropriate activities that foster the development of children/teens in YMCA programs. The coordinator will supervise staff, engage with parents and children, and manage budgets while ensuring adherence to YMCA policies and procedures.
Essential Functions:
- Oversee and schedule staff to ensure effective supervision and implementation of activities in KidZone, PNO, Families Unplugged, half day camps and teen programs.
- Ensure compliance with activity schedules, fire drills, incident reports, and other parent and staff communications.
- Ensures the staff receives appropriate training consistent with professional goals.
- Plan and facilitate a developmentally appropriate curriculum with colleagues, and supervisors.
- Encourage child/teens' participation and model appropriate interactions in groups and individually.
- Use redirection, positive reinforcement, and proactive problem-solving in working with children/teens.
- Complete annual trainings and attend meetings to stay informed about policy changes. Keep up to date with YMCA programs, policies, and procedures.
- Foster positive relationships with staff, families, and the community. Act as a key representative of the YMCA.
- Solicit feedback from participants and respond to concerns in an initiative-taking manner.
- Demonstrate professionalism through consistent implementation of policies and procedures.
- Apply to YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to best practices, emergency procedures, medical and disciplinary situations, and child abuse prevention.
- Ensures the health and safety of all members/guests.
- Inspect physical space to ensure the safety, orderliness, sanitation, and cleanliness of facilities.

Qualifications:
- High School diploma required.
- Completion of CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications within 30 days of hire.
- Fulfillment of state-specific hiring standards and YMCA program certifications.

- Knowledge of fiscal requirements and the ability to implement them.
- Understanding and implementation of licensure requirements and YMCA policies.
- Ability to plan and facilitate developmentally appropriate activities.
- Ability to present a positive image to staff, participants, and the community.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs.
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
