What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Cook - YMCA Camp Immokalee position at YMCA OF FLORIDA'S FIRST COAST?
Essential Functions:
- Manage the daily operations of the camp food and dining services including coordinating activities between the kitchen and the dining room.
- Oversee the menu, inventory and ordering of food, equipment, and supplies, and arrange for the routine maintenance, sanitation, and upkeep of the camp kitchen, its equipment, and facilities.
- Supervise the scheduling and performance of the kitchen assistants.
- Other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager, or Camp Director.

Qualifications:
- Experience in management or supervisory role in an institution or large food service setting.
- SafeServ food safety certification.
- Knowledge of and experience in food service: ordering, inventory, budgeting, food preparation, family-style serving, buffet serving, cleaning, and institutional kitchen equipment.
- Able to perform physical aspects of the position, including:18 years of age as of the start of employment and eligible for work in the United States
- Working long hours
- Identify and respond to environmental and other hazards
- Respond appropriately to situations requiring First Aid, and assist campers in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury)
- Lift 50 pounds
- 21 with valid Driver's License preferred.
- Handles self in a professional manner. Works with integrity, discretion, and maintains confidentiality. Upholds a professional appearance.
- Proven ability to have initiative, good judgments and ability to make decisions independently.
