Volleyball, Soccer, Basketball, Flag Football
Position Summary:
Implements and supervises sports program/s for the YMCA, its members and the community.
Essential Functions:
- Represents the YMCA and maintains appropriate relationships with members, parents and youth.
- Instructs practices for Volleyball, Soccer, Basketball and Flag Football at agreed upon scheduled times and supervises at scheduled games.
- Promotes YMCA facilities and programs, and assists in special events when needed.
- Arrange for substitutes to teach scheduled classes when necessary.
- Manages the equipment, resources and programs of the department for delivery of the best possible programs.
- Upholds all safety practices in the facility.
- Instructs at and/or helps with summer camps, practices and clinics.
- Ensures all First Coast YMCA standards and best practices are implemented and followed.
- Applies YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to best practices, emergency procedures, medical and disciplinary situations and child abuse prevention.
- Ensures the health and safety of all members/guests.
- Inspect physical space to ensure the safety, orderliness, sanitation and cleanliness of facilities.

Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- A minimum of one year previous experience coaching specific sport, as well as in-depth knowledge of rules and guidelines.
- Must present a professional image to parents and the general public.
- Must be highly organized, possess superior communication skills and teaching abilities.
- Must be able to develop harmonious relationships with staff members and community leaders.
- Completion of YMCA program-specific certifications.
Physical Demands:
Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions and to supervise program activities in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor locations.
