What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kitchen Assistant: Camp Harrison position at YMCA of Greater Charlotte?
Under the supervision of the Food Service Director and consistent with the Christian mission of the YMCA, the Kitchen Assistant is responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen and serving area and available to provide cooks and other staff with additional support in the kitchen at Camp Harrison.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Wash dishes, glasses and pots; clean cooking stations and equipment to expedite a smooth flow of service while maintaining sanitation standards.
- Ensure tables are bussed, cleared and cleaned and floors are cleared and swept in the dining hall.
- Restock clean dishes in service areas and refill drink station machines as needed.
- Ensure dirty dish tubs and utensils are transported to dish washing area.
- Sweep/mop floors kitchen prep and serve areas as needed.
- Remove trash from kitchen and dining hall can and place it in designated containers.
- Maintain the exterior of dining hall as directed.
- Ensure compliance with outlined safety procedures.
- Light food preparation tasks as needed.
