What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Substitute Teacher: Brace YMCA position at YMCA of Greater Charlotte?
Under the direction of the Preschool Experience Director and in accordance with the Christian Mission of the YMCA, the Preschool Substitute Teacher will develop, implement and coordinate all activities. The Preschool Substitute Teacher assumes full responsibility for the welfare, supervision and safety of the children enrolled in the programs. The Preschool Substitute Teacher will ensure quality programs, safe activities, and participant satisfaction.
- Promptness (8:30 AM).
- Utilize morning planning period (8:30 – 8:50).
- Daily mixing of classroom cleaning solution.
- Assist in drop-off process each morning.
- Assisting the class co-teacher through daily schedule.
- Daily preparation of snack and clean up.
- Monitor parent/child feedback on a daily basis.
- Complete all daily duties such as reports or daily cleaning of facility.
- Attend monthly staff meetings.
- Promote and participate in YMCA programs and events.
Requirements:
- At least one year supervisory experience with children.
- Strong personal relations skills.
- Practices caring, respect, honesty, and responsibility.
- Current CPR/BBP and 1st aid certification.
- Knowledge of general YMCA programs, philosophies, and objectives.
- Ability to work in and resolve conflict situations.
- Complete the YMCA orientations.
Physical Requirements:
The Preschool Substitute Teacher must be able to see, hear, speak, walk, sit and stand.
