What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Adaptive Camp Program Specialist: Morrison YMCA position at YMCA of Greater Charlotte?
Under the direction of the Youth Development Director and consistent with the Christian mission of the YMCA, the Program Specialist will be responsible for planning and ensuring effective implementation of the Specialty Camp Programs in the assigned specialized area.

Essential Functions
- Develop weekly activity plans that include provisions for camper ages and diverse
- Provide guidance and growth-minded feedback to campers and camp staff during specialized program activities.
- Develop training content and assist in facilitating trainings and in-services for camp
- Ensure delivery of a weekly individualized progress update for families of each
- Be present during specialized program times and oversee implementation of activity plans to ensure effective implementation of activities and curriculum.
- Assist in implementing program enhancements including end of week performances, special exhibits, family events. May require some evening or weekend work.
- Ensure the safety of each participant and maintain a safe and clean
- Attend all required staff meetings and
- Maintain skill progress records, incident reports, and other administrative records as required by the supervisor.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 4 year degree in specialized area of expertise, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience the specialized activity area.
- 4 years experience teaching youth
- Experience designing and implementing staff trainings and youth program curriculum
- Strong decision making skills and ability to take initiative
- Strong organizational and communication
- Ability to assist in developing and implementing class curriculum in alignment with strategic program goals.
- Significant evidence of emotional maturity, good moral character, judgment, integrity and leadership capability.
- Ability to work within a Christian environment and promote the core values of Responsibility, Respect, Honest, Caring, and Faith.
- Ability to adapt to changing needs and
Desire to learn and apply experiences as necessary.
