What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Preschool Camp Leadership Staff: Steele Creek YMCA position at YMCA of Greater Charlotte?
Under the direction of the Camp Director and consistent with the Christian mission of the YMCA, the Leadership Staff will provide operational and administrative support to ensure smooth operations of the day camp program. The Leadership Staff will work closely with other YMCA staff to plan, implement, and oversee logistics during assigned hours of the day camp program.

Essential Functions:
- Assist in facilitating YMCA Summer Day Camp staff trainings, meetings, and family events
- Participate in pre-camp planning and development as needed
- Monitor camp activities and provide support to day camp counselors as needed to ensure safe and smooth operations
- Enforce all program safety and quality standards during assigned hours
- Serve as a positive role model for staff and campers, leading with enthusiasm and a growth mindset during scheduled hours
- Teach and enforce appropriate behavior expectations with all children and staff and implement the camp behavior modification policy when necessary.

- Ensure the cleanliness of camp areas throughout the
- Maintain ongoing communication with the Camp Director and report any difficult or unusual situations within assigned timeframe.
- Communicate with parents as needed
- Performs other duties and tasks as assigned by leadership
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age and/or one year of college
- 2 years experience as a camp counselor, or equivalent leadership
- Excited to work with children and develop teen leaders
- Demonstrate emotional maturity, good moral character, judgement, integrity and leadership
- Must enjoy and appreciate working
- Ability to work within a Christian environment and promote the core values of Responsibility, Respect, Honest, Caring, and Faith.
- Experience that relates to the planning, implementation and evaluation of
- Ability to problem-solve and adapt to changing needs and
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate in a positive manner with members, participants and staff.
- Excellent administrative and record-keeping
- Strong internal drive to learn and grow.
- All YMCA team members are expected to maintain a current and active status for all safety, risk, and programming certifications defined by the YMCA of Greater Charlotte.
