What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Resident Camp Leadership Staff: Camp Harrison position at YMCA of Greater Charlotte?
Under the direction of the Director, and consistent with the Christian Mission of the YMCA, the Resident Camp Leadership Staff is responsible for assisting with the training and supervision of the summer camp staff, staff training, and the supervision of all cabin staff.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES:
- Assist with orientating, supervising, training, and evaluating summer staff
- Assist with the Management/Supervision the daily activities of the counselors throughout the summer
- Assist with the development, coordination and implementation of staff training (staff week, OSHA, and YMCA)
- Assist in providing safe and high quality programs for resident camp
- Assist with the supervision of cabin staff – cabin life – parental communications
- Assist with Spiritual components of camp – including devotions, worship services, and vespers
EFFECT ON END RESULTS:
Through effective supervision and close attention to program quality & staff supervision, the Resident Camp Administrative Staff will assure that Camp budgetary and quality goals are achieved.
KNOW HOW:
- At least one year of college completed.
- 3 to 5 years work experience in a camp environment. 1 year minimum in a leadership role preferred.
- Supervisory Experience preferred including recruiting, training, performance management
- Computer Skills including Excel, Word, and PageMaker
