Salary: $43,000/ year.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Oversee the coordination, management and expansion of branch aquatic programs and services for all age groups, ensuring equity among communities and diverse groups.
2. Ensure strategies are in place to recruit, hire, supervise and coach diverse aquatic staff for maximum impact. Ensures all staff model equity, inclusion, cultural competence and global awareness in all areas of their work. Maintain regular clear and concise communication and handle staff issues promptly.
3. Develop and administer consistent training, certification and development plan for lifeguards and swim instructors and ensure all required certifications are up-to-date according to set standards. Provide regular in-service trainings. Actively lifeguard and/or teach lessons as needed.
4. Responsible to develop pool, swim lessons, and staffing schedules to meet the needs of the branch. Ensure all schedules/programs are developed to maximize ratios and financial accountability.
5. Utilize various social media tools to promote the ABR benefits of the YMCA, invite and inform individuals and community. Assists in the marketing and distribution of aquatic communication in order to inform and grow programs.
6. Maintain day to day cleanliness and safety of aquatic area. Complete daily chemical logs and if CPO certified make adjustments to chemicals.
7. Collaborate with centralized facilities to ensure aquatic facility is maintained and in excellent working condition, addressing issues in a timely manner.
8. Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
9. Ensure compliance to all Federal, state, local and YMCA regulations.
10. Provide regular communication to staff through staff huddles, check-ins or other methods.
11. Ensure all incident reports are completed accurately/consistency and in a timely manner.
12. Adhere to established association standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Health, Physical Education or related field is required with 4 years of aquatic leadership experience required; preferably in YMCA aquatics. CPO Certified Preferred.
2. Current YMCA or ARC Lifeguarding plus CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Basic First Aid and Emergency Oxygen Administration. YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor (YSL) and/or WSI Certification preferred.
3. Experience in personnel supervision, recruitment, training, and development of staff.
4. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social/economic segments of the branch.
