Responsibilities:
- Assist with day-to-day operations of the before/after school program, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.
- Implement culturally-relevant and developmentally-appropriate program curriculum, aligning with YMCA standards and best practices.
- Provide attentive supervision at all times, responding to the needs of children and staff as needed.
- Develop and implement activities that promote physical activity, creativity, and socialization among children.
- Maintain positive relationships with children, parents, and staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive community.
- Ensure compliance with YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to licensing requirements, medical situations, and child abuse prevention.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in early childhood education or related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with children in a group setting, preferably in a before/after school program.
- CPR and First Aid certifications must be obtained/maintained throughout employment.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
