POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for planning, leading, and delivering the daily literacy curriculum for the program. This position ensures a fun and motivational learning environment and creates learning pathways to address student need
JOB LOCATION: King Elementary and Findley Elementary
SHIFTS AVAILBLE: Monday-Thursday 7:30a-12:00p - On-Call basis
PAY RANGE: $28.00-$32.00/hour
CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS: March 3, 2025 - Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Plan, prepare, implement and deliver instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
- Identify, select and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
- Positively interact with and maintain harmonious working relationships with students and parents.
- Provide constructive and detailed feedback to help students achieve academic success.
- Maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures.
- Provide a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process.
- Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
- Demonstrate gains in student performance.
- Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrates respect for others.
- Complete accident/incident reports and submits to supervisor or designated staff person.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or designated staff person.
- Demonstrate and support the objectives of the Association as embodied in the mission statement and values
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to read, write, and perform simple mathematical functions.
- Current Iowa Teaching License
- Two years successful elementary and/or middle school classroom teaching experience
- Demonstrated record of exceptional teaching skills
- Current Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED Certifications or equivalent - preferred
- Intro to Y’s Cause & Culture Online Course - prior to starting if hired
- Additional training to be completed within the first 30 days and maintained afterwards.
