Job Description
Fostering a Sense of Belonging
- Provide opportunities for campers to feel a sense of achievement and build healthy relationships with peers and counselors.
- Create a welcoming atmosphere in cabins, evening programs, and department settings.
Ensuring Safety and Preparedness
- Ensure all equipment is safe and functioning properly.
- Be prepared to provide alternative programming activities during inclement weather.
Departmental Responsibilities
- Develop skills and expertise in assigned departments.
- Balance responsibilities between department work, cabin duties, and overall camp needs.
Communication and Incident Reporting
- Communicate effectively across departments.
- Report incidents to program managers, directors, and the executive director.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum age of 18 years old.
- Previous experience in overnight or day camp programs (preferred).
- The ability to obtain Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED certifications.
- Intro to Y's Cause & Culture Online Course completion prior to arrival at camp.
Physical and Mental Demands

- Visual, auditory, and verbal abilities to communicate effectively.
- Ability to remain alert and adapt to changing working conditions.
- Capacity to perform moderate physical activity and maneuver in outdoor environments.
