Responsibilities
The Early Learning Center at the Whitley County YMCA is seeking a full-time Assistant Teacher who is enthusiastic and compassionate to join our team.
- Care: Supervise assigned groups of children and engage in positive staff-child interaction.
- Develop: Promote a healthy, emotional, social, intellectual, and physical environment for each child.
- Nurture: Success in this position is defined as growth in student participation and quality enrichment, sound adherence to defined safety and educational standards by the staff, and positive feedback from parents.
Requirements
Candidates must be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne as well as:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Excellent communication, supervisory, and organizational skills.
- Excellent human relation skills and enthusiasm.
- Basic math skills and demonstrated recordkeeping proficiency.
- An elevated level of organization, flexibility, and ability to handle difficult situations effectively.
- Successfully complete within 60 days of hire: CPR/First Aid/O2 Certification, Bloodborne Pathogen training, Child Abuse Prevention training, and all other required training as specified by your supervisor.
Salary: $14.00-14.50 hourly
Hours Available: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm
