Responsibilities
YMCA Child Care Services is seeking a part-time Inclusion Counselor who is energetic and compassionate. The Inclusion Counselor will have the opportunity to positively impact the lives of children with additional needs, including emotional, behavioral, and physical.
- Connect: Have a warm, engaging, and friendly demeanor that is able to connect quickly with program participants and parents.
- Nurture: Show compassion and understanding of children with special needs.
- Lead: Lead fun, enriching activities for school-age children with special needs who are participating in summer day camp at Camp Harris.
Requirements
Candidates must be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne as well as:
- Minimum of 16 years of age, with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Experience in the supervision of multiple children, including children with diverse abilities.
- Organized, detail-oriented, yet flexible.
- Comfortable communicating with parents and enjoy working with children.
- Positive, service-oriented attitude serving diverse groups of campers in regard to age, abilities, ethnicity, gender, race, economic status, religion, etc.
Salary: Part-time $14.00-$14.50 hourly
Hours Available: Monday-Friday, 11:00 am-6:00 pm (May 23- August 1)
