Responsibilities
The Parkview Family YMCA is seeking Day Camp Counselors to work the Summer 2024 Day Camp Season who are enthusiastic, energetic, and compassionate with a strong desire to positively impact the lives of young children. Day Camp Counselors lead fun and enriching activities for school-age children participating in summer day camp at Parkview Family YMCA.
- Connect: Have a warm, engaging, and friendly demeanor that is able to connect quickly with program participants, parents, and supervisors.
- Nurture: Actively engage with and provide quality care for program participants in order to deliver a quality childcare experience.
- Lead: Good communication, accounting, and organizational skills.
Requirements
Candidates must be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne as well as:
- Minimum of 18 years of age, with a high school diploma or equivalent, is preferred.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Two years of related work experience with youth supervision is preferred.
- Ability to handle situations quickly, kindly, and fairly.
- Ability to work well with youth, parents, community leaders, staff, volunteers, and YMCA members.
- Ability to relate to, welcome, and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.
Salary: Part-time $13.50-$14.00 hourly
Hours Available: Monday-Friday, 7:45 am-12:15 pm from May 29, 2025- August 1, 2025
