Responsibilities

The Jorgensen Family YMCA is seeking a Teen Camp Counselor who is enthusiastic, energetic, and compassionate with a strong desire to impact the lives of young children positively. Teen Camp Counselors lead fun and enriching activities for teens participating in summer camp at Parkview Family YMCA.

Lead : Actively engage and conduct group games, activities, and field trips

Inspire : Encourage the initiative & passion that accompanies volunteerism.

Implement : Utilize the YMCA Core Values (Responsibility, Respect, Honesty, Caring) as a guideline for which staff and participants are to interact with the community.

Nurture : Provide quality care, create lasting positive connections, an overall memorable program experience.

Candidates must be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne as well as :

Minimum of 21 years of age, with a high school diploma or equivalent, is preferred.

Reliable transportation to and from work.

Two years of relevant work experience with youth supervision preferred.

Experience in the supervision of multiple children.

Excellent problem-solving skills

Ability to work well with youth, parents, community leaders, staff, volunteers, and YMCA members.

Ability to relate to, welcome, and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.

Salary : Part-time $14.00-$14.50 hourly

Hours Available : Monday-Friday, 8 : 30 am-4 : 30 pm, Employment : May 18, 2025- August 2, 2025
