This position is for our sprig soccer season at the Litehouse Family YMCA.
POSITION SUMMARY
The League Sports Official will be responsible for the refereeing and officiating of youth games. The League Sports Official will ensure a safe, fun area for members and participants to interact and enjoy. This position requires face-to-face leadership in the program and may involve early morning and weekend responsibilities. Saturday 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM availability is required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Follows Association safety procedures and protocols
- Officiates games in a fair manner according to Association rules
- Must demonstrate the ability to control all aspects of a game
- Works closely with league coaches
- Ensures participants have fun
Performs any other functions necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapid
COMPENSATION
$13.02 - $16.27 ; Part-Time; Non-Exempt (up to 25hrs/week)

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must have reasonable knowledge of the game with an emphasis on the rules specific to the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids League.
- Experience of one to two months of athletic or sports officiating is preferred.
- Ability to interact with people of all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles required.
- Youth officials must have a desire to work with children and their parents/guardians.
- YMCA experience preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION
- State of Michigan criminal background clearance (ICHAT)
- Blood Borne Pathogen training
- CPR Certification required within the first 60 days
- First Aid Certification required within the first 60 days
- AED-Oxygen Certification required within the first 60 days
