What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Office Clerk - RMA position at YMCA OF GREATER HOUSTON?
YMCA International Services is a unique branch of the YMCA of Greater Houston and seeks to meet the needs of Houston’s significant refugee and immigrant communities. We provide comprehensive programs that focus on building human assets and fostering self-sufficiency. As a Clerk on our team, you will play an integral role in helping refugees, asylees, Cuban border crossers, Special Immigrant Visa Holders, and victims of human trafficking gain access to a wide range of social support services with the goal of becoming self-sufficient.
Essential Functions:
- Be familiar with program rules and regulations
- Provide translation and interpretation as needed to facilitate client's access to services
- Assist with weekly Cuban orientations by making copies, scheduling client appointments, distributing handouts, making sign-in sheets, etc.
- Apply for Refugee Medical Assistance (RMA) for clients in an electronic database within 48hrs of the referral.
- Print RMA insurance cards for clients and/or case managers.
- Assist to refer clients to vaccine clinic appointments and follow-up with clients.
- Monitor and review files to be in compliance with rules and regulations.
- Work with the RCA department to maintain close communication in regard to forms and client status updates and documents
- Prepare and submit reports as required by Program Director.
- Apply and address all RMA appeals and terminations within 48 hours of eligibility determination status.
- Maintain good record on file and case notes at all times
- Report suspicious and inappropriate behaviors and policy violations
- Follow mandated abuse and incident reporting requirements
- Meet timelines and deadlines related to supporting systems and employee compliance. Example includes but is not limited to Kronos Workforce Ready to review and submit own time sheet.
- Participate in rotating food pantry schedule.
- Other duties as assigned.
Outcomes
- All eligible clients served in a professional and timely manner
- Ability to conduct up to 70 new applications per week.
- PCU cards are available to clients in a timely manner.
- Client files are current and provide a complete picture of the service provided.
