Position Summary:
Monitors the wellness center and provides excellent service to members in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that promotes member wellness and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
Essential Functions:
1. Greets members and answers member questions in the wellness center.
2. Provides equipment instruction and support to members.
3. Builds effective relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA.
4. Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members.
5. Preform scheduled daily task for each day.
6. Keeps accurate class attendance records.
7. Provide instruction to members on fitness and wellbeing.
8. Maintains the cleanliness of the Wellness Center.
9. Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations.
10. Attend all staff meetings, trainings and other YMCA functions as required by Supervisor.
11. Maintain open lines of communication with staff, parents, and supervisor.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
1. Required certifications: CPR, First Aid, and AED.
2. National certification (ACE, NETA, AFAA, NASM) in group fitness instruction or YMCA Foundations of Group Exercise certification preferred.
3. Knowledge of fitness, personal training and or group exercise instruction.
4. Criminal Clearance, Health Exam with TB test.
5. Must attend a new employee orientation within the first 90 days of employment.
Working Conditions:
Environmental Factors: Indoor and outdoor facilities (e.g. childcare and recreational sites); exposure to heat, cold, potentially hazardous chemicals, toxic materials; work on slippery or uneven surfaces. Noise level is usually moderate.
