A Maintenance Assistant oversees the facilities and grounds of camp on a daily basis in partnership and under the supervision of the Facility Director.
Job Skills / Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Have documented experience in facility maintenance, specifically plumbing, carpentry, lawn care, etc.
- Ability to relate well to others
- Ability to accept guidance and supervision
- Able to demonstrate enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, and self-control, maturity, responsibility, sound judgment, and good decision-making skills.
- Be of good character, and in sympathy with the goals and objectives of the camp.
- Complete pre-camp orientation, unless other arrangements made with Facility Director.
- Be cleared through a federal background check.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain the safety of facilities, campers, and staff.
- Assist in the cleaning, maintenance, and inspection of equipment and facilities.
- Accept other assignments as needed to provide for the effective operation of camp activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Must be in good physical health, and possess good strength and endurance.
- Must be able to identify and respond to emergency situations.
- Must be able to work with people of different age and skill levels.
- Must be able to move equipment and supplies
STATUS: Part-time; Non-exempt, Seasonal
STARTING SALARY: $14.00/hr
Certification Requirements (Any)
