What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer League Assistant Swim Team Coach position at YMCA of Greater Monmouth County?
Under the guidance of the Summer League Head Coach, an Assistant Summer League Coach is responsible for assisting at practices for the team and providing instruction of all stroke and drill methods and corrections. Coaches are to attend all dual, individual and championship meets that are scheduled. Coaches are expected to contribute to the goal of maintaining a successful YMCA competitive summer swim team.
- Work with head coach to oversee and run practices
- Give instruction to swimmers when needed
- Attend swim meets and provide coaching to swimmers at meet
- Develop skills and sportsmanship amongst swimmers
- Minimum 16 years of age
- CPR and First Aid Certification
- No prior coaching experience is necessary but must have a good knowledge of competitive age group swimming
- Works effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions
- Builds rapport and relates well to others
