Enrichment Support Power Scholars Academy Position Summary: Enrichment Support staff at Power Scholars Academy help lead and organize afternoon enrichment activities. They create a fun, engaging, and educational environment, providing support during hands-on learning, recreational activities, and creative projects. Their work contributes to students' academic and personal growth beyond regular classroom instruction. We hire qualified educators, college students, and community members to support both classroom teaching and enhance scholars' learning experiences.

PROGRAM SUMMARY:

This summer learning program is designed to address the achievement gap amongst students from economically disadvantaged households who are behind grade level in math and/or reading. The program enhances overall youth development and academic performance.

• Desire to work with (elementary/middle school) scholars and their families in under-resourced communities.
• Outstanding verbal, written, and technological (computer/internet) skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Developing and implementing appropriate enrichment classes for assigned grade levels.
• Preparing classrooms for daily activities and collaborating with academic teachers and teacher’s assistants to ensure that objectives are reached.
• Using Scholastic/Bellxcel enrichment curriculum ensuring the afternoon consists of 1 hour of physical activity and 1 hour of STEAM activities.
• Maintaining accurate classroom records.
• Maintaining an organized and efficient classroom.
• Adhering to all Power Scholar Academy and district professional expectations and compliance issues.
• Creating a positive, achievement-oriented, organized and engaging learning environment.
• Motivating and holding scholars to high academic and behavioral expectations.
• Providing consistent rewards and/or consequences for scholar behavior grounded in positive discipline.
• Empowering scholars to make positive choices and serving as a role model.
• Ability to lead when the TA is unavailable.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

• This position is not eligible for benefits with the exception of a free individual YMCA of Greater Nashua membership for the summer 2025.
