POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Sports/Membership Coordinator assists the Program Directors in the implementation/supervision of programs; through creation of flyers, rosters, project timelines, communicating changes in program offerings to members and staff. The job consists of working with employees of various departments, volunteers, and program participants.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Must stay current in CPRPR/AED/O2 and First Aid, renewed annually.
- Track Program Statistics.
- Maintain current program flyers and information at the front desk.
- Develop program flyers and assist in distribution to schools.
- Creation of rosters.
- On time for all work periods and meetings.
- Entry of program participants into computer.
- Maintain equipment and supplies.
- Communicate and coordinate all purchases with Program Director.
- Report incidents to Program Director.
- Carry out other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Responsible for carrying out approved emergency action plans in the event of an emergency.
- Complete YMCA officials training course.
- Assisting Association wide sports program as needed.
- Supervise Member Service Associates.
- Coordinate Member Services associate scheduling.
- Assist in hiring and development of Member Services Associates.
- Manage and reconcile branch bank draft returns and daily deposits.
- Coordinate and provide training of Member Services Associates.
- Monitor sales goals and prepare reports as required.
- Input membership and program information into computer.
- Assist with and participate in branch/association special events.
- Assist with renewals, cancellations and bank drafts.
- Carry out other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Accept and demonstrate the positive character values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
- Develop meaningful and sustainable relationships with members, donors and volunteers.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Must be certified in PR/CPR, AED, O2, and First Aid. (Training provided by the Y, if needed)
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One or more years' experience in sales or service-oriented business.
- Must have experience in various YMCA programs or other programs similar to those the YMCA offers.
- Must be in good physical working condition and able to perform the functions of the job.
- Effective communication, interpersonal and supervisory skills, multi-task oriented, knowledge in hiring, customer service, sales, marketing, retention, computer skills and human relations.
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
