JOB TITLE: Youth and Family Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Youth and Family Director
FLSA TYPE: Non-Exempt
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Under the oversight of the Youth & Family Director, provide leadership to all areas of the Youth & Family Department and to coordinate planning, development, staff oversight and implementation of all activities in the Youth and Family Department and supervise the programs under the principles of the YMCA Character Development, caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain accurate paperwork including incident reports registration forms, timesheet, new hire forms, attendance, and enrollment records.
- Keep areas clean and equipment organized.
- Report any equipment breakdowns or safety issues to Supervisor.
- Communicate regularly with children and parents.
- Assist with developing and maintaining family newsletter.
- Adhere to and implement YMCA mission and philosophy.
- Assist with planning monthly family events.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children.
- Supervise staff to provide a safe and healthy environment.
- Develop meaningful and sustainable relationships with members, donors, and volunteers.
- Prepare and distribute USDA and HEPA approved snacks and/or meals to participants.
- Perform daily count of meals and snacks served.
- Assist Director with development and maintenance of the Youth and Family annual budget.
- Assist Director with Staff Annual Community Support and United Way Campaigns.
- Assist Director with branch Youth and Family Program Committee.
- Be responsible for upholding the YMCA employee appearance guidelines.
- Administer and oversee the curriculum outlines daily as part of the goals set in conjunction with the Youth & Family Director.
- Evening & Weekend work as needed. Must attend all scheduled YMCA trainings.
- Other duties as assigned and determined necessary. Job duties could change depending on changes in the business.

This position directly affects the overall YMCA’s operation. When done properly, the Program will have grown and will help provide a positive atmosphere and enhance the Mission of the YMCA.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Must be certified in PR/CPR, AED, O2, and First Aid. (Training provided by the Y, if needed)
- Must complete all required annual compliance training within 30 days of hire and renewed annually.
- Must be 21 years old with experience in working with infants, children, and families.
- Scheduling, supervising and evaluating staff, address parent concerns and communicate effectively both oral and written.
- Must exemplify and support the philosophy of the YMCA.
