POSITION SUMMARY:
The Graphic Design Specialist will assist the AVP of Marketing with advertising, marketing, public relations and social media, developing and demonstrating an understanding of the YMCA mission, programs and its impact on the community. This role will maintain brand awareness and implement design strategies that increase traffic and engagement in the region. This role will create visually compelling content for various platforms, including social media, digital ads, and print materials, ensuring adaptability for multiple users.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develop and design marketing materials that align with brand guidelines with adherence to project deadlines.
- Responsible for integrating marketing tactics with community and business development strategies to increase branding visibility.
- Design, edit and integrate digital content, graphics, photography, illustrations and other multimedia visualization and imaging products.
- Create proofs, prototypes, mock-ups, wireframes, user journey maps and other visual aides.
- Comply with accessibility standards, contractual obligations, confidentiality and privacy policies and style and standard guidelines.
- May design and maintain websites, including development of new functionality, content updates, style and layout and accessibility.
- Create content for social media, digital campaigns, and print advertising.
- Assist in website development and optimization, with a focus on SEO.
- Ensure advertisements and marketing materials are adaptable for different audiences.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to drive engagement and brand visibility.
- Have a deep understanding of our history, mission, purpose, values, global diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Support Social Responsibility and Public Relations efforts.
- Attend Y events to capture & edit stories, photos, videos, etc.
- Represent the YMCA at special events.
- Assists with writing/reviewing press releases and promotional copywriting.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 21 years of age.
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field preferred.
- 1 year of relevant experience required.
- Proficiency in graphic design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.).
- Experience in website development and SEO strategies.
- Strong knowledge of social media marketing and content creation.
- Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Must have excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills.
- Must have good communication abilities.

Hourly Range: $15.87 - $19.83
