What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kid's Care Leader position at YMCA of Greater Providence?
Position Summary: Responsible for the supervision and safety of children, while providing high quality Prime Time programs that allow for positive interaction with children and their families. The ideal candidate will be able to maintain a safe and engaging environment, ensuring the well-being of all participants.
Reports To: Child Care Director
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Maintain accurate records of attendance and sign-in/out sheets, ensuring proper release procedures are followed and identification is verified. Inform parents of accountability systems in place.
2. Describe program features and procedures to parents, promoting transparency and trust.
3. Foster good public relations with parents, addressing concerns and escalating serious matters to the Coordinator or Program Director as needed.
4. Set up and break down equipment efficiently, maintaining a clean and organized environment.
5. Ensure the health and safety of Prime Time participants, cautioning against unsafe practices and conditions. Perform first aid when necessary and report incidents, completing incident reports as required.
6. Report deficiencies in equipment and supplies to the Coordinator or Program Director, promoting maintenance and upkeep.
7. Arrive prepared for scheduled shifts, including 15 minutes prior notice; dressed appropriately; focused on constant concentration and visual surveillance of participants without distractions.
8. Find coverage for absences and notify the Coordinator or Program Director of any changes.
9. Attend staff meetings and events, demonstrating and teaching Character Development values such as caring, respect, responsibility, and honesty.
10. Serve as a member service ambassador, staying informed about current programs and facility schedules. Provide personalized direction to other YMCA services as needed.
