Associate Aquatics Director - Patrick Henry Family YMCA

The Patrick Henry Family YMCA is seeking a passionate and dedicated full time Associate Aquatics Director to share their love of aquatics and community by teaching people and guarding our pool. Their passion will be evident as they ensure the safety and enjoyment of members and program participants in our indoor pool.

DUTIES

The Associate Aquatics Director will teach and model water safety and swim skills - and will lead group swim lessons and schedule private swim lessons for both children and adults. They will ensure the enjoyment and safety of members of all ages and abilities by lifeguarding YMCA pools as needed.

The Associate Aquatics Director will serve as a key team member and role model for part-time aquatics staff and will assist with training other aquatic employees, to include swim instructors. During the summer months, the Associate Aquatics Director will assist with summer camp swim lessons. The Associate Aquatics Director will welcome and engage members in a friendly, warm and inclusive way. They will oversee the safety, cleanliness and order of the pool and surrounding areas. The Associate Aquatics Director will be trained in and knowledgeable about YMCA emergency procedures and will record and report any related incidents to the Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must have lifeguarding experience, strong communication skills, and demonstrate the ability to successfully implement YMCA of Greater Richmond safety standards and facility Emergency Action Plan. Applicants must be flexible and able to work some evenings, weekends and holidays. *The Y will train interested candidates who meet basic swim requirements if not already certified!

Applicants must have current CPR-Pro, AED, First Aid, and YMCA (or Red Cross/Ellis lifeguard) and O2 certifications within 30 days of hire.
