Position Overview
The YMCA of Greater Richmond is seeking a mission-driven, enthusiastic Maintenance Technician to provide excellent maintenance service to the buildings and grounds at assigned YMCA locations for the benefit of members and program participants.
The Maintenance Technician must have a knowledge of effective maintenance techniques and routine preventive maintenance - and have knowledge of cleaning materials, supplies, equipment, building fixtures and equipment. They must be able to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents and to perform assigned and approved repairs in accordance with YMCA Association Standards, including but not limited to plumbing, carpentry, electrical, flooring, painting, plaster/sheetrock, landscaping, and housekeeping.
This position supports the Property and facilities team in aquatic projects, including but not limited to pool openings, closings, drain and cleans. The Maintenance Technician must be able to operate custodial equipment including scrubbers, strippers, extractors to support branch custodians. Accountable for consistently updating approved system of records, reports, and inventory in assigned areas. Responsible for updating, communication and closeout of all work orders and projects in our facility management software. Support branch staff and custodians in maintenance, housekeeping, and branch custodial projects, such as carpet cleaning, high dusting, tile scrubbing, etc. Pull and/or treat weeds, keep grounds free of trash and in winter shovel snow from steps and sidewalks and apply ice melt when appropriate at assigned locations.

Qualifications
•A minimum of 5 years of experience in building maintenance and repairs required. Must be highly motivated and possess an acute attention to detail.
•Must have knowledge and comply with OSHA standards, emergency plans, maintenance management, housekeeping.
•Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment required.
•Able to carry out written and oral instructions. Must work in a cooperative manner with members, staff, and volunteers. Communicates effectively with others.
•Some computer skills required to utilize maintenance and facility software program.
•Must have valid driving license, ability to drive YMCA vehicles, and reliable personal transportation, as this position requires travel to branches throughout the YMCA of Greater Richmond footprint.
•May be required to work overtime and on evenings and weekends as necessary to meet assigned events and facility schedules.

•Competitive salary range: starting at $40,000 based on experience and qualifications.
