Shifts Range Monday through Friday 3-6 pm
$15.50/hr. and a Free YMCA Membership
Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Gym Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a safe and well organized environment in the gym by enforcing the gym rules, policies and implementing the YMCA Character Development Values. The Gym Supervisor is also charged with organizing activities and distributing and caring for equipment as needed. The position is responsible for demonstrating YMCA leadership competencies to ensure the mission, purpose, image and core values of the YMCA of Greater Rochester are conveyed.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Maintain and safe and fun atmosphere in the gym and outdoor courts.
· Communicate and enforce rules and policies.
· Assure that the gym is clean and equipment is put away at the end of each shift.
· Ensure organization and fair play during activities.
· Be familiar with and carry out emergency procedures, building rules and regulations
· Keep appropriate logs and records as required
· Assist in overall facility appearance and safety issues.
· Attend all required meetings and training.
· Maintain all required certifications.
· All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
· Must be 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma.
· Ability to communicate and organize diverse populations.
· Must possess strong communication skills and judgment to deliver excellent customer service and fair play.
· An interest in people and an ability to work individually with each participant.
· CPR/AED and First Aid certification is also required or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Ability to move quickly to react to safety issues
· Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift.
· Ability to remain calm, objective and respectful in potentially stressful situations.
· Ability to move around the gym to assist players.
· Ability to lift equipment and supplies up to 30 lbs.
