This is a seasonal position.
16.50 / hr. to $17.50 / hr. and a Free YMCA Membership
To further the mission of the camp through the development and delivery of music activities that are safe, fun, and appropriate to the campers’ age and abilities. Assist in the management of the music equipment and supplies. Incumbent should possess a dance or theatrical background, with the ability to teach basic dance steps.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Develop and deliver a music program that is appropriate for the age and ability of the campers and that utilizes the natural environment and the value of camping.
- Write lesson plans that meet the abilities for both the “Younger Village” (K-3 grade) and “Older Village” (grades 4-9th).
- Younger Village should include learning famous line dances that can be learned in one period of the camp daily schedule.
- Older Village should encompass progress programming where campers will learn choreographed routines throughout the week set to popular or today’s hits.
- Programming for any age could include choreography, Broadway or Musical re-creation.
- Design and deliver activities that ensure varied projects for each week / day.
- Hand in weekly curriculum no later than Thursday the week before programming.
- Participate enthusiastically in all camp activities, planning and leading those as assigned.
- Participate as a member of the camp staff team to deliver and participate in Family Nights, Special Event Fridays, overnights, and other all-camp activities and camp functions.
- Assist in ratio as needed.
