Essential Functions
- Responsible for maintaining program documentation, reports, and scheduling.
- Develops and implements a comprehensive strategy to enhance the Pickleball program and increase participation among membership and increase membership through the Pickleball program.
- Collaborates with Director to maintain all equipment or supplies needed for the program.
- Develops a diverse menu of year-round programs and a welcoming environment that encourages all ages and skill levels to participate.
- Develops and implements our Youth and Adult Pickleball program at our Thousand Oaks Family YMCA.
- Assists in the organization and scheduling of program registrations. May review and process program scholarship applications.
- Models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions. Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in timely manner.
- Implements and oversee tournaments, leagues, and special events to promote the sport and build community.
- Provides social opportunities and events to create community off the courts.
- Advise leadership on the development of outdoor pickleball facilities and amenities.
- Assists in Hiring and training additional staff and volunteers to provide group lessons, private lessons, classes, special events, and to monitor skill level play as needed.
- Assist with the annual campaign and sponsorship opportunities to help support programs.
- Assists members in the education of the sport to include: Instructing lessons, clinics, and or small group lessons.
- Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Must be familiar with the game of Pickleball including a mastery of the game and the ability to teach the sport to others.
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be certified or become a certified pickleball instructor withing 90-120 days of hire.
- Employee must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software.
- Ability to work with integrity, discretion and a professional approach.
- Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.).
- Work is performed in a fast-paced environment.
- Visual acuity is required for reading computer screens and/or documents and making changes as necessary/required.
- This position requires analytical abilities and multitasking in order to identify problems and recommend solutions.
- Job requires accuracy and attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills, while maintaining high levels of initiative in order to work within deadlines.
- Occasional stooping and bending with regular lifting of up to 20 pounds is required.
- Incumbents must be able to stand for long periods of time, as well as be able to use keyboards, telephone keypads, and writing utensils.
- Uses best practices and demonstrates up-to-date knowledge and skills in technology.
- Reliable personal vehicle is required to travel to and from work.
