POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the AVP of Youth Development and in alignment with the YMCA’s mission, the Youth Development Director provides strategic and hands-on leadership for high-quality youth development programs at the branch and offsite childcare locations. This role ensures the delivery of impactful programs that foster achievement, belonging, and strong community relationships.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Oversee and manage youth development programs, including After School Programs, Child Watch, Parent’s Night Out, and Summer Day Camps, expanding programs as needed in alignment with strategic objectives.
- Develop, monitor, and control program budgets to meet financial objectives, ensuring operations remain within budget and program fees are collected.
- Recruit, hire, train, develop, schedule, and direct a team of cause-driven staff and volunteers committed to youth engagement and relationship-building among families.
- Evaluate staff performance, implementing motivational strategies to enhance team effectiveness and achieve program goals.
- Ensure compliance with state and local regulations, adhering to YMCA program standards and safety procedures.
- Foster relationships with state childcare licensing agencies, school administrations, parent groups, and community organizations, promptly addressing inquiries and concerns.
- Maintain and oversee program facilities and equipment to ensure a safe and supportive physical environment.
- Assist in marketing efforts and the distribution of program information to increase engagement and awareness.
- Collect and analyze program data to monitor effectiveness and participation, making improvements as needed.
- Provide leadership in the annual fundraising campaign and participate in assigned committees.
- Attend professional development courses and staff meetings to enhance skills and program impact.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, child development, recreation, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in youth program management, supervision, or related fields.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of childcare regulations and best practices in youth development.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
