POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Director, support members and guests in pursuit of their health and wellness goals by providing a positive and enjoyable workout experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Welcome, assist and interact with members.
- Stay informed and promote Y programs being offered.
- Be on time, prepared for your shift, and adhere to the dress code. Secure an alternate staff member to cover work shift scheduled.
- Provide friendly and outstanding customer service.
- Supervise all Health & Wellness Center activities while on duty and conduct new member orientations as required.
- Respond to incidents, accidents and emergencies appropriately, calmly and professionally; protect the organization and the members from harm or suit.
- Report maintenance needs to the Coordinator and/or Director.
- Be knowledgeable of and be able to administer the Branch’s Emergency Medical Response Procedures.
- Remain calm and objective when under pressure or challenged by others; work with fellow staff members and treat them with respect; be able to answer members’ questions, concerns, and complaints in a timely and courteous manner.
- Know and enforce all Health & Wellness program policies, procedures and rules in a consistent, fair and firm manner; communicate and educate in a knowledgeable and professional manner.
- Demonstrate teamwork and organization by communicating problems or constructive criticism to the Health & Wellness Coordinator and/or Director and work with them to provide quality programs.
- Attend all required staff meetings and trainings.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- H.S. Diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills.
- CPR, First Aid and AED or obtain within (3) three months.

values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Some college coursework completed.
- Previous experience in a health and wellness environment.
