What are the responsibilities and job description for the Member Services Shift Lead (opener) position at YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg?
The Membership Services Lead is responsible for opening the facility and delivering
excellent service to members, guests, program participants and staff. Responds to
member and staff needs in the absence of Membership Director or designee. Must be
able to cultivate relationships with members to positively impact their YMCA
experience.
Primary Responsibilities
• Provides excellent service to members, guests, program participants and staff in
the branch and on the phone, contributing to member retention.
• Addresses any and all complaints or concerns from members and staff.
• Updates Daily Membership Tracker.
• Completes daily deposits.
• Is the point of contact when there are no directors on site.
• Secures the building at appropriate times.
• Maintains visibility and accessibility to members and staff.
• Responds to emergencies and completes related accident/incident reports. Copies
and submits reports to management.
• Ensures policies and procedures are consistently followed by members and staff.
• Communicates problems or observations to appropriate members of
management.
Completes Management on Duty reports as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Requires HS diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred.
2. Minimum 12 months' experience in membership or customer service and
minimum 6 months' team lead or supervisory experience.
3. Must possess reliability and dependency; ability to work with minimal supervisor.
4. Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, accuracy and
attention to detail, and ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people
from all social and economic segments of the community.
5. Must attain CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 90 days of hire.
Shift: (Opener) Mon-Friday, 4:45am to 12:30pm.
Rate of Pay: $18.50 - 20/hr, commensurate with experience, along with excellent benefits
including health, dental, vision/life insurance, facility usage, before and after
school child care, generous paid time off and YMCA-paid retirement upon eligibility.
Pre-employment drug test and background screen required.
