JOB TITLE: Program Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Executive Director
FLSA TYPE: Non-Exempt
WORK LOCATION: East Central
Job Type: Part-Time
JOB PURPOSE:
Develop, organize and implement high quality YMCA programming within the East Central YMCA membership, youth & family, and healthy living programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (not a complete list):
- Direct and supervise program activities in membership, healthy living, and youth development to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives (General areas: group x studio scheduling/marketing, membership desk, Play and Learn scheduling).
- Recruit, hire, train staff and develop schedules.
- Direct personnel and volunteers as needed. Develop strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
- Maintains programs and enhance existing and develop new programs in the community according to strategic operating plans.
- Assist in marketing and distribution of program (membership) information.
- Develop and monitor program budget to meet fiscal objectives and purchase equipment and supplies as needed with director approval.
- Coordinates use of facility for programs and events.
- Assists in YMCA fundraising campaign; takes a leadership role in raising funds for the annual giving campaign.
- Models’ relationship building skills (including listen first) in all interactions. Respond to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
- Assists in meetings.
- Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures regarding the prevention of abuse.
- Report any suspected abuse, neglect, or misconduct immediately to the appropriate supervisory staff.
- Attend mandatory training on abuse prevention, including recognizing signs of abuse, and reporting requirements.
- Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation of programs in healthy living and membership.
Required:
- Must be 18 years of age.
- High School diploma or equivalent required; College coursework preferred.
- CPR, First Aid, AED, Oxygen Administration Certifications (will be provided upon employment).
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent personal computer skills and experience with standard business software.
- Ability to work with participants of varying experience and skills levels.
Preferred:
- CPR, First Aid, AED, Oxygen Administration certification (will provide upon employment)
