POSITION SUMMARY
The Driver is responsible for providing bus transportation for after-school and summer camp transportation and special YMCA field trip events. In addition, every position in the YMCA of Greensboro is responsible for carrying out our promise to strengthen the foundations of community with focus on Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility while upholding our values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Safe transport of participants from one location to another.
- Keeping accurate records relating to the bus and expenses.
- Performing daily maintenance checks of the vehicles and reporting repair needs to the supervisor as needed.
- Keeping interior of bus clean.

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. Employee must be able to pass DOT physical to maintain appropriate driver’s license endorsement. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Certifications: Valid class CDL license with “P” endorsement required for hire. CPR/AED, First Aid, Blood borne pathogen training required after hire and must remain current.
